yup early 60's Datsun Cedric, like many cars on Malta I'm pretty certain it had been converted to diesel.

Round my way (West Cumbria) there is a (spectacularly inappropriate for Hackney Carriage use) Seat Leon Cupra R taxi, with blingin' alloys, lowered springs, etc.

 

It looks much like this, only with yellow and black Council-supplied taxi stripes across the bottom of the doors, and the usual light box on the roof:

 

It also has the baffling personalised reg. of J999DGE. Illiterate judges don't drive taxis at night, surely?

For example, it would be the same money to insure a Skoda Octavia as it would to cover an Audi A8. The premium is based on where you live and the amount of taxi experience you have.
