This is my wife’s car. It was bought when her Fiat Punto cabrio died last January. It is used to ferry kids around, and is a general tip, it seems – why can’t ladies keep cars clean?

Has four seats, you can sit on all of them – some damage (not much) to driver’s seat bolster. The back seats fold down so you can put long things in the boot. It has done a smidgin under 100,000 miles – about 99000 from memory but may be a wee bit more. Electric power hood, four tyres with a decent amount of tread. Has alloys too if such things float your boat.

The hood is mohair and is electric. Has electric windows all round. The buttons on the driver’s door only work on the back windows, and I have yet to find a four button switch in a scrappy. I have a spare two button switch that could be cannibalized but I haven’t the enthusiasm to do it. The car has some rust issues – nothing that couldn’t be repaired easily

. Again, it was a stop gap for us so all I cared about was that the hood worked (it does), it started (it does), it stopped (it does) and it was MoT’d and taxed (it was and still is).

Known issues:

Aforementioned driver’s door switch for windows works on rears only.

Rusty in places (none structural as far as I can tell).

No stereo but it does have a working cd multichanger in the boot.

Engine management light will come on occasionally if car is left on the over run too long or is left at tickover at lights for ages – runs at about 400rpm on tickover (not lumpy) but must be a simple tweak – again, it hasn’t been near a garage in our ownership so must need a service and tune up too and that may clear up the problem.

Rocker cover gasket a bit leaky, so engine itself could do with a clean and a replacement gasket.

supermarket dings, etc.

Oh, it has an annoying big bore exhaust at the back – annoyingly resonant at 70mph! That was on it when we bought it.

So, all in, it has a couple of months test, no doubt it’ll need something to get it through again. It’s worth £150 over the bridge – plus £200 for the hood and motors.

What do I want for it - £300 of the Queen’s finest.

Will part ex for a decent and tidy Punto Cabriolet 1.2 – cash your way for a swap – or £300 – no offers.
