T-series K-series? How different are they?

I'm considering binning my K-series and putting a T-series in there - if it's not too much a bugger of a job. Are the mounts the same, and do they share the same gearboxes? Thanks!

Is that for your MGF? Smaller K-series used a Peugeot 'box, but bigger ones share the same R65 'box as the T-series.

Surely an L-series is in order if you want to stick a boat anchor in the back.

The R65 is the wee Pug 'box, the big boy is the Honda PG1. Unless you're going T16 Turbo Station, it's hardly worth it, especially as a T can't cool properly in an F. I'm also fairly sure you'll need a different (or heavily modded) rear subframe.

Sorry, got muddled there!

What about a Lotus-Toyota 2ZZ-GE S/C?

Yeah, it's for that flipping MGF.

I really want to just do a swap for a similar capacity engine without much work doing. It's been done before on Elises and MGF's, but details are a bit sketchy.

I don't want a turbo as it's too much hassle, I'd even opt for a 1.6 - basically, I just want an engine that will go in with just modifying engine mounts that isn't shit (K-series).

I've got to a stage where I've given up on it. Under 3,000 miles in three years is ridiculous. I can't remember the amount of times I've had trouble free driving for 200 miles and then for it to chuck the coolant out of the header tank.

My 214SEi did that from brand new! it is a PITA. The dealers were useless. What cured mine was a new 'stat, a new "jiggle" valve*, a new header tank cap, followed by a very very slowwww coolant fill and a damned good bleed.

*goes in a thin pipe below the header tank, but your F is probably too new to have that.

There's an MGF in the scrapyard by McCoys (Nr MiniMark5s). According to the scrappy owner "It drove in, nothing wrong with it, bloody scrappage scheme".
