Some tough decisions

Check the obvious before you condem it, they are pretty simple and run fine with virtually no oil pressure at idle, (pressure light has always flickered at hot idle on my RRC) check you are turning the pump the right way,  does the pressure switch work, is the distributor drive engaging correctly (there are 2 types).  If all else fails a new cam and crank  bearings is a pretty simple job on these, probably far less hastle than sorting out an unknown replacement vehicle.
