I worked at a Hyundai dealer when these were new, and they were a big seller. Better made than any Hyundai that went before it and based on proven mechanicals, I don't remember much ever going wrong. Replaced loads of alloy wheels under warranty due to corrosion and centre console lids always used to break, along with the odd switch. Avoid auto's. Cambelts every 40K. 'F2' special edition was the nicest one, loads of extra's like big wheels and Sony stereo. Sales dropped off after the facelift...although the latest ones look like a winner.
