GregZX Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Changed the plugs on my 2020 Octavia 1.5 TSI this morning and the thread on the plug from cylinder number 2 was caked in oil. The sparking tip was totally dry however. My immediate thought was rocker cover gasket or spillage down the bore from topping up but there's no evidence of either. I cleaned everything up and put it all back together and the occasional misfire in 2nd/3rd gear has vanished too. So a decent job thus far but the oil is bizarre. It is the cylinder closest to the oil filler cap and I have been topping up recently and did spill a bit so maybe that's it. £70 for 4 plugs btw! That was with a discount from the local factors too. Main stealer wanted £115!!!
jonathan_dyane Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Odd. I assume it has pencil coils, are they oil filled if so could the coil on that cylinder have cracked and be leaking oil?
