GS/A & Ami Rally 2010 pics with bonus Datsun content

It was a real scorcher of a day at the Tilford Rural Life Centre in Surrey today, but a lowish turnout because of a certain football match. Unfortunately my GSA is laid up because I'm saving money towards the marriage, so it was my BX's first visit to this event. We took Lucy's parents with us and they enjoyed a good day out - there's a lot to see at the Rural Life Centre and they do a fab lunch.

Following the trend of unusual guests (Renault 20s/30s in 08, Allegro Estate in 09) was this nice Datsun Cherry:

David Evans from Classic & Sportscar made a welcome appearance with his blue GSA.

And we gorged on cake and sipped Lambrini (!) to mark the 40th Anniversary of the GS. Nom nom.

Cheers,

Cheers Reallyloud - I probably met you last year then :)

I heart that LNA. I drove it round the field at the Stratford-upon-Avon CCC rally in 08 and thought it was delightful.

I thought the Visa Leader was tasty too - and there was also an example of my favourite GS - a late G Special or GS Club in white.

I was there! Only briefly, it was so hot. That Datsun was lovely, I hadnt seen one for years. Nice Nova in the car park too. The LNA was brilliant, its funny how its basically identical to the Samba at the rear, but the front styling looks really dated. My favourites were the BX GT prefacelift and gold CX, an amazing selection given the size of the show.

The original incarnation of the LNA (LN) was introduced in 1976, which was essentially same car as the Peugeot 104 coupe (or Z). PSA where clutching at sale straws when they decided to release the car as the Talbot Samba some 5 years afterwards but I have to say both citroen and Peugeot missed a trick when Talbot released a neat cabrio version. Any idea who the Datsun belongs to?
