Des Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Anyone familiar with Volky flat fours? I'm running around in my first ever German wheels at the moment, and it does make a bit of an old growl at high revs, is it normal for them to sound like the mains are rumbling, and would it really matter if they did? I've yanked on the crank pulley, to see what the endfloat was like and looked fine, and it's not like I can whip a sump off for a lookey look.
shite_meister Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Hmmm strange, mine sounds as smooth as Roger Moore in a barrel full of Molyslip wearing a cashmere cod-piece, the only noises I get are sometimes the tappets can be a bit noisy but other than that there shouldn't be any rattles, is the noise constant? as in are you sure its not pinking? I've heard of a few common problem areas on these but not much in the way of bottom end weakness its usually a case of incorrect antifreeze causing issues or top end stuff.
