How cheap is cheap? All the ones on this sceptred isle are horrendously expensive. Like five or six grand expensive. You could make some good coin fetching it here, even if the wheel is on the wrong side (unless it's a RHD ex-uk ex_jdm one...)

300 notes, needs a little work, UK plated import :D

Bollocks to that. Repatriate it here, most likely selling it to some meathead from Dagenham, run back to france with the spoils and buy your missus the most spotless 3rd gen Espaz of evar.

Mid 90's Largo's can be picked up on ebay for £300 upwards needing work. They only have one common fault like most JDM people carriers, head gasket failure due to poor maintainence of the cooling systems.Parts can be pricey, exhausts are £500 on average and the pattern ones sold by some import parts specialists are badly made resulting in loss of performance and economy. Some brake parts are tricky to get, but other than that they drive and handle well. Expect 30 ish MPG from the usual auto TD, down to 22 MPG with the pattern exhaust.Remember the aircon runs the old gas, but this is still available if you go to a commercial refridgeration specialist instead of car based ones who will try to stitch you for a £1k+ conversion job.

Not all the time..

Its like anything, you can ask 6 grand for something but it doesn't mean it's going to sell!

The reason they do make fairly decent money is because the slopes really got it right where packaging and toys are concerned. In the back these things are more like a lounge than a MPV. When you compare them to what we're used to, things like the Espace, there is no comparison. More rear room, adaptable seating, seperate heating and aircon in the rear, moon roofs, plush upholstery and carpets, they really are a world apart.

The head gasket problems are more down to the owners than the car itself. What most people don't consider is that the JDM imports we get here are very low grade because the buyers are only interested in maximum profits. What we get are considered scrappers in Japan. These cars are run into the ground with little or no servicing, then pressed into daily and sometimes hard use over here with again, no real servicing. Theres no good reason that with a little bit of common sense and preventative maintainence, a Largo or even Estima shouldn't provide sterling service for many years.

For that money I'd expect it to be one of the earlier Largo's...
