All in an evening's work

I had a nice evening last night with a friend of mine fixing Citroen shite and perving at cars on ebay and lebencoin. He's really tempted by that blue Pug 305...Fixed:non working washer spray on his dad's BX (blocked spraybar and rear window jet)non working dipped headlight on his mum's XM (just happened to have a spare H1 bulb in my kit) - aren't those bulb access covers a merde to get off???non working indicators and wipers on his GSA that's been garaged for 10 years but he's readying to be trailered to a friend's for fixing up for MOT. Traced very quickly to the fact a fuse was missing :lol: Forgot my camera, but then again I had no idea until I got there that I'd be doing all this stuff before we even got the kettle on...We found mind numbing amounts of Simca 1307s and 1100s and all sorts of old Renners on Lebencoin to go "ooh" and "aah" over, inbetween having pizza and treacle sponge :) I like evenings like that. Bit of messing with cars, cups of coffee, bit of nosh, looking at shite on the net, reading CCW... Nice.Mark.

Swapped non-PAS with EPAS in my MGF. Quite scary at the though as it hasn't been done before, had to take half the car out, modify a load of wiring and fit a new EPAS ECU, but got it working after a day.

(scuse mucky floor, missus was doing gardening!)

Last night I got the Bedford running. It ran out of fuel. Just about managed to get enough in (lost my funnel...) to get me to a petrol station. Literally just as it ran out on the forecourt!BX washers are a pain in the arse. I've got a new spray bar on mine, but it's not brilliant. The rear one got clogged up. I've cleared it out a bit, but obviously not enough as the water now comes out with terrifying force!

A friend of mine swears by the spraybar system used on the Peugeot 405 and has used it on BXs to great effect. On my car I found I got greater water pressure if I bypassed the jet in the spindle and connected the washer hose direct to the spray bar by routing it up through the bulkhead grille. I'm sure the spindle jet just needs a proper rod through, but I can't be bothered atm, especially as it's off the road anyway for the time being.Mark.

Got the bumper filled, sprayed and back on the S Type.

(I know it doesn't look straight, it's just the angle of the shot)

Note missing chrome trim - eBay seller sent me one for an S Type R, in primer, with holes for parking sensors. GAH! He was most apologetic, though.

On the upside, silly old giffer who hit it fronted up more than the agreed sum in cash earlier today. :D

EDIT: RESTECP to Andy @ Brookland Motor Factors in Coventry. Correct part just arrived.
