So another video.

Good if you do some fast forward or whatever.

And progress at whatever pace the day dictates

Inbetween the digging and shifting I fetched two Scenic loads of 45mm and 75mm polystyrene sheets

They filled the rear of the Astro and I jadtp leave the doors open for weeks till it was all used up

in the mean time I emptied the”Prozac Shed” into the “Shed of Spite”

Progress I guess

All too soon it was time for @CraigRK to head back to Mud Island.

Lucky man, he had won a 1973 VW Beetle in an online competition.

Also had cats, dog, kids and a wife to return to.

On the way to the airport, we stopped for the customary breakfast at Pete’s and then got distracted by a local car show.

Multiple T Shirts and photos, chats and drooling later we headed out to St Louis Airport to drop Craig off.

I think both Dennis and I were not overly happy with losing part of the team but life goes on.

Any more interest in the shed building?

Friday night

Ooops, Thursday.

So with the shed empty and wall down the next job was to start getting the layout figured out and planning the off grid urinal.

Slow progress if you make it up as you go along.

Also, using scrap, recycled materials means finding the best bits and being creative.

Much more information in a video format.

Hope you click like or whatever too.

Part 4 video.

Getting the framework done took time as well.

Point to note……..

Building around my big tree and some shrubs means having to get creative but also delivered a building with 9 walls.
Not one wasthe same length or really parallel.

Crazy ??

But thats how I roll.

And some random photos.

Frame up still had me building a machine shed for my woodworking machines.

But then some idiot suggests other uses and my head starts spinning 😵‍💫

I collected some free used windows, bought a load of insulation, thick insulation plastic and various other materials. Not necessarily in that order to upgrade my build.

And so walls went up.

Glass went in.

Nail gun failed.

Nail gun fixed.

Progress slow but steady.

Few pictures??

So we got to part 5.

Spectagularly (I know, the spelling) boring video with copyright issue and I screwed up on the editing when a load of radio was on in the background that I had not realised how loudly.

Gets a bit lonely building stuff alone in the back yard. So garage radio was nice company.

Use your fast forward option generously.

So the next job, vapour barrier, insulation and flooring board jenga or Tetris

Interesting??

If you need stuff on while you work but you're videoing, there's loads of copyright-free music on yootoob.

Thank you.

I suspect something on the radio was the problem.

BUT………

I edit only on iPhone and use iMovie to do so.
The music is from there too.
I am/was under the impression that it was all copyright free music clips on there but maybe not.

@CraigRK is my chief IT consultant and just updated my 10 year old brand new, unused laptop for the second time.
We previously loaded an editing program on it.

So maybe it’s time for my finger to come out and playing with that product while editing the shed build.

Christmas season.

I headed up to Shropshire last week to see @CraigRK and his family.
Also got to be in the way while he was changing their boot room and utility room. Switching everything around and moving plumbing, washing machine and dryer to opposite sides of the room.

Who needs pliers?

So a load of pallet wood recycled and a table made up for the Belfast sink. They are heavy. New legs made with adjustable feet to sit between the machines.

Craig also changed a load of plumbing, pipework and stuff that was installed by absolute idiots before.

The outside wall creeper was cut back hard as well to be able to fit the drainage pipes for laundry and kitchen.

The little Renault Scenic was serviced the day I left.

My first decent trip with it.

I was amazed at the fuel consumption too.

59 mpg (Imperial gallon)

49.1 mpg (US gallon)

4.79 l/100km

I think it’s possibly the lowest fuel consumption I have ever had in a car.

Happy days.

So  a few random pics for Christmas day of the week before Christmas.

Another long overdue Christmas update.

Dennis in America has had this Chevelle for a long time.
Bought, as you see it in this video.
Driven down the motorway with @CraigRK on his first roadtrip to America.

It has taken a back seat to life and many other builds, including some of Rogers cars and of course years working with Mike Mittler of Mittler Brothers NASCAR Truck racing team where he did all the bodywork etc.

The NASCAR 66 C10 got built and is in part a tribute to good friend Mike.

Most of us know the truck

Anyway………

2024 and at last he could start the build in ernest.

Loads of work done on a rotisserie.

So the underside of the car was restored, prepped and painted up to the sills.

So  I have a few pics to load.

The second door is probably also fitted now.

This is already beautiful and will be awesome.

I keep in touch with Andy via WhatsApp and video calls through the year until my next visit.

The man seriously is a machine.

This week on video he showed me around the new fences and gates he is building. Using steel and 6 foot Cedar boards, milled by him, by hand, from trees on site.

Amazing work.

Andy also loves his animals and it’s always clear they love him and see him as pack leader.

So I was really saddened when he sent me some pics of a new rescue dog, well, bitch, called BobbieG that he had given a new home to, that got killed out on the road.

More sad was how his other, older rescue dog Ghirardelli was affected by her death.

Pics show how Andy found them, Ghirardelli loyally guarding her lifeless body and the obvious confusion and sadness when Andy buried her.

Dogs are incredibly loyal. So much more than most humans.

I made a short video of them playing out in the yard as a tribute to a lovely dog.

Animals really know how to be kind.

Life is still good.
