If you really want the van get it collected and delivered to you.Β

Will be cheaper in the long run. Probably cheaper in the short run too.

Worst case scenario you can break it and get your money back.

Did some woodworking over the weekend.

Β

Had a coffee date today.

Β

Here at my home.

Β

Yes really.

Β

She is a widow and we spoke on video for an hour last week.

Β

I made her some things for the home bar with his name and also a sign for her gardening allotment. Had to go buy some Gorilla glue as both my bottles of wood glue had dried up. On the way back….. inside the tunnel. Stop. Engine off. Bugger. Idiots.Β

Β

She arrived with a bag of gem squash for me.

Β

Loved the thingsΒ  made for her.

Β

Perfect exchange.

Β

She rides three bikes, Harley Fat Boy, Yamaha Fazer, Suzuki Burgman.

Β

George was very taken with her too, spending 30 minutes on her lap.

Β

Some pics.

Β

Hope you can figure them out.

Watch out for those Sarahs. They can be dangerously unpredictable. I have been married to one for over twenty years and I still don’t really know how her head works. 🀣

Think that applies to the female species in general!

What's that saying about if any female suspects a male understands some of the rules, they must immediately change some or all of them?

And yes I'm married, ' yes ,dear' goes a long way 😁

Shite weather outside.Β
Β

But I may have a metal sign in my garage to remind me of this rule πŸ˜‰

I will get a picture later Β

YouΒ will be pleased to know that I am hoping to get a complete, Β£50.00 towbar for my 1.5 diesel Scenic collected byΒ @CraigRKΒ next week when he comes down from Shropshire to visit.Β
Β

Hopefully we will get it fully fitted and wired up. Β Which will solve my volume carrying capacity problem, which is why I have been looking out for something a bit bigger.Β
Β

My neighbour has 24/7 access to a long bed, scaffolding Transit pickup that he has offered to me, should I need a big rig.Β
Β

My 5 foot trailer along with the ScenicΒ should work really well.Β

Random flashback to 2018

Chevy Blazer needed some help.Β
Β

13 years abandoned on someone’s driveway.Β
Β

After much cutting out rust, welding, and rebuilding the suspension, brakes etc with new parts as well as getting the interior and exterior tidy…… I sold it.Β
Β

But I think it was a great car and often forgot how much work it took.Β

I am not a kid anymore but my mind is certainly juvenileΒ

I might shock one or more of you…… well, β€œGrow up”

My widowed lady (can I call her friend) sent a picture of her carrots from her allotment this morning.Β

It triggered a dark dirty recess in my mind……

Who’s juvenile now??Β

You will notice the circular saw enquiry in the chat list has dropped to the bottom of the page, and the list continues below it.Β
Β

Seriously, at this point, I would vote for selective sterilisation and neutering. Starting with my list.Β
Β

Life Β is good.Β
Β

But man…… Idiots abound. Β
Β

Β

Β

Remember that little shed in the garden?

Β

My circular saw that I had used is small, and had sustained some damage to the β€œtable” at some point.Β

Β

Either me or someone else had dropped it before.Β

Β

Using it to cut railroad ties or sleepers and other big timber stuff had shown the 75mm plunge depth and motor size to be good but both frustrating and inaccurate for some jobs.Β

Β

I always keep my eyes on marketplace and various for sale sections online on forums.Β

Β

Yesterday I bought a new to me, Bosch GKS85 Professional circular saw.Β

Β

Advertisement said Β£50.00Β

Looking at his other items showed random stuff, mainly furniture and household stuff.Β

Β

His description:

Have no use for it, just sitting in storage not being used. Collection only.Β

Β

One photo.Β

Β

I couldn’t see if it was a 110V or 230VΒ machine as online shows both options.Β

Β

Messaged him and got one photo reply.Β

Β

Clearly not very interested in selling it.Β

Β

So I asked him if he would entertain a cheeky offer, to which his response was Β£40.00 was the lowest he would go (I had hoped for a Β£45.00 offer as it was 15 miles away, offsetting my diesel driving there) but happy to pay the Β£50.00 as it seemed hardly used.Β

Β

So I fetched the saw, and went to get some food shopping done. Again doubling up on the trip.Β

Β

Looking at it’s plastics and table, it looks unused. Maybe it’s had one small job through it.Β

Β

Came home, excited to see how it went……

Plugged in into a kitchen outlet……

Tried to start it there…..

Not working……

Bugger…..!!Β

Next….?

Β

Β

Off to the garage once I had unpacked the food and had a coffee.Β

Β

Removed the 13A fuse from the wall socket plug and rummaged around in my electrical fuse tray.Β

Β

Found one, fitted it.Β

Β

Plugged in….,,,Β

Β

Success.Β

Β

Β

I have to say, this is a 2000W and 285mm blade saw.Β

It is big, heavy.Β

Certainly a two handed saw this.Β

The old one does work single handedΒ

Β

Β

Looking forward to the next woodworking project.Β

Β

Β

I was going to sell or give the old one away, but couldn’t do it in good faith knowing it is not accurate.Β

Β

So I will keep it for hacking jobs, like timber pallets etc.Β

Β

Looks like prices range wildlyΒ

I couldn’t do filler or primer bodywork this week or today because it’s 50’F or 10’C outside and a keen breeze continues to blow my plans up.Β

Β

Earlier this week I had gotten some filming done but did miss out on a days dent redemption.Β

Β

A fair bunch of the dents and damage is up Β high on the bedside and has various obstructions in the way. Β

Β

So I improved a lot of the horrendously done in America before export, repairs and next step is drum sander and primer.Β

Followed by fiberglass filler and loads of repeat repeat repeat work.Β

Β

I managed to get some really good, visually descriptive footage in the short video.Β

Β

Pics hopefully describe the rest. Β

Β

If anyone wants to create an emotional sympathy filled Go Fund Me and ship me a couple of rear bedsides, please don’t feel that I may be unthankful.Β

With all the large flat surfaces you are working with, might be an idea to look for a longbed sander, air powered to reduce some of the slog
