grizz Posted July 25, 2025 Author Posted July 25, 2025 I was looking for some used, expired fire extinguishers.Β Β Another of those crazy things that crossed my mind when I was sober and needed execution.Β Β So yesterday I found one on FB marketplace.Β Β Marked it out and took to it with grinder, files, flap discs.Β Β I am pretty happy with the result.Β Β Made for a friends wife who is turning 65 next week.Β Β If she hates itβ¦..Β Perfect.Β Β Comes home.Β Β Β . grizz Posted July 27, 2025 Author Posted July 27, 2025 Few thingsβ¦β¦ Β Cheap bootfair today. Β Β Nothing overly expensive, I like that. Β Β Some tools to be processed into ornaments and some for use in my shop.Β Β I usually take a bunch of King Dick Imperial spanners Β to America every year and share them about for thoss who want or need them. grizz Posted August 2, 2025 Author Posted August 2, 2025 Lodgers can be a blessing or a bloody menace.Β Β In very different ways, they can cost you money.Β Β The kitchen is a great example.Β Β Breaking crockery, flooding the kitchen, burning stuffβ¦.. imagine having a pair of pre-teens living with you and having no responsibility. grizz Posted August 2, 2025 Author Posted August 2, 2025 Hi guys I am in Rochester, Kent.Β Β I have an opportunity to get some spoked wheels, (with tyres fitted) which I have been looking for.Β But the distance at 125 miles to BA14 9 BR and over three hours driving one way makes it not worth the doing Β Sometimes there are some things that align and you manage to get stuff moved around.Β Β So the question isβ¦β¦.. grizz Posted August 3, 2025 Author Posted August 3, 2025 That time of year.Β Β I actually had forgotten.Β Β So I was going to go to town for a mooch about when I saw some over ripe yellow plums under the tree at bunny bend.Β Β So I went around the roundabout and headed back home to get some shopping bags, then out to Grain power station to get some fruit.Β Β I only got almost 7lbs or 3kg.Β Β Came home, washed and cleaned them up and got started.Β Β Its usually 1:1 for sugar but I decided to only add 2kg sugar to my 3kg fruit.Β Β So cooked and bottled it all. I managed to get 3.2kg or about 7lbs of jam or jelly.Β Β Because I reduced the sugar, I didnβt add lemon juice.Β I prefer a bit of zing to my jam.Β Β And so thats me done for now.Β Β Β .Β sdkrc, junkyarddog, Brigsy and 7 others 10

grizz Posted August 8, 2025 Author Posted August 8, 2025 So yesterday this started happening again.Β Β Heat gun, putty knife.Β Β Slow progress.Β Β It just takes time and has to be done like this. When doing it at home.Β Β A restoration friend, Gobin, had found me some of theseΒ KATSU Tools Drum Sander Burnisher Replacement Diamond Sanding Burnishing Drum 120mm SP10009308Β On Amazon.Β Β I messaged Sally and asked her to order me some on her Prime account.Β Β She agreed, I reimbursed her and order placed by 8.00pm last night.Β Β Delivery projected for 1.00pm today.Β Β Β All of this was because it took me about 3.00 hours or more to do literally half of one side of the load bed cab side panel with a 1600W heat gun and scraper.Β Removing that old underseal and some paint is a slow, tedious and tiring process. Just your hand and index finger gets to do most of the work.Β Β So today I have to strip the rest of the underseal on that panel.Β Β Back to the drum sanderβ¦β¦ Β Delivery at 10.00pm turned out to be at 08.05 Β Not sure about records, but a great result.Β Β The drums do look good and twinkle in the light.Β I wonder if they have diamond dust in there.Β Β I look forward to seeing what they can do to make life easier and speed up the process.Β Β And once cleaned upβ¦β¦.. Β RUST TO CUT OUT AND WELD UP.Β Β Yup, you heard me right.Β Β Both sides have about 250mm by 30mm to cut out and weld in repair pieces.Β Β Thankfully I have practiced on the fenders before.Β Β Β Β .Β MrBig, 93fxdl, Brigsy and 4 others 7

grizz Posted August 9, 2025 Author Posted August 9, 2025 Soβ¦.. Β Where were we ? Β Trying to get the tedious task of scraping underseal from the panel.Β Β I actually guesstimate it took 5 hours so far.Β Β And no, not sure thereβs a quicker way.Β Β If there isβ¦β¦.. best you come show me your way.Β Β So after some knotwheel of death action, the extent of the rust became more apparent.Β Two sections.Β 400mm/16β Β and 50mm/2β on the too lip.Β The flat section will be inspected and cleaned up later.Β Β While cleaning up, I also found a lot of wear and tear dents right across the panel where objects were obviously slung when the truck was a working machine.Β Β I will try fixing them but certainly am not spending days on that job.Β Β The other time waster I took on was to recover the top of the fire extinguisher and turn it into a stand for the frying pan skull to stand next to my fireplace.Β Β That came out good as well.Β Β Happy.Β Β Photosβ¦β¦..
