Split_Pin Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 I was putting the new V5 for this away (now back on it's 02 plate as YVO is on the A4 cab) with the other history and looking through it I remembered how much had been done. So it made sense to me to add to this thread as it mirrors what's on paper. It actually provided a faultless 9 months service to my wife but the fuel smell was giving her a headache. I also want to get time to attend to the cosmetics but that means having it off the road for a few days at a time which wasn't possible when it was her daily. In my ownership I have: -replaced the pre-cat 02 sensor to cure some hesitancy in acceleration and a recurring EML. I got a known good used genuine one for £30 from a Facebook seller which did the trick. - new rear brake lines -Haldex service (this was £££ as the only garage around my way that does this charge £110 per hour labour and all wear embroidered polo shirts). Next time I'll do it myself. -new spring - a new steering arm - 2 oil and filter changes so far -2 new rear tyres - 2 new fuel lines in the engine bay. The latter is when the fuel smell started. I had an issue getting the new hoses sealed but there are now definitely no leaks in the engine bay so I wonder if I have created a hairline crack in the plastic fuel lines below. I really had to wrestle the plastic unions to get them off. Anyway, I'm not too worried as nothing is leaking near the engine and I have all the time in the world to get to the bottom of it. I'm going to have a go at refurbishing the wheels myself as £400 - odd quid for a cosmetic item is a but pricey for me these days. I'm also going to have a go at sanding and painting the roof section above the drivers door as it's really poor. I took it out my garage yesterday and relieved it of its duties as Christmas present storage. Looking forward to running about in it next week. JMotor, SiC, mercedade and 2 others 5
