Pillock Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I thought the police had clarified this as they've attempted to deliver the NIP within the alloted time, i.e. if it's dated 14 days minus 3 days from the date of the offence (3 days being the quoted maximum delivery time for first class mail) then they can assume it's been delivered.Otherwise what's to stop you just denying having received it - they're not registered mail. "Sorry mate, arrived on the 15th day so you're getting it back". Or just bolt your letterbox shut and refuse to open the door to the postman, surely that's the same effect as a postal strike?
