My 1985 Honda Accord for sale

Copied over from OJC:

I've decided finally that some rationalisation of my fleet would be a good idea and though I'm keeping the Mazda 323 as a light project/back-up, I'm offering the Accord for sale and possibly also my B11 Sunny shortly dependent on interest in the Honda. I haven't quite got certain in my mind whether both will go to make way for something new or I keep one of them. Anyway...

The Accord is pretty much identical to the minter that just sold on eBay but this one is a manual box and I have to confess not in as nice condition! It is a very solid car however and quite presentable and excellent underneath. I bought it about 18 months ago from Spottedlaurel.

Features:

Central locking, electric windows all round, electric sunroof and aerial all working fine. The cruise control works perfectly, air con is fitted but not connected - I believe the compressor is noisy. Also has power steering and ABS. A very well-built and sophisticated car for it's age.

Mechanically the car is great, 82000 miles with lovely and smooth engine (single carb OHC 12 valve with manual choke) which had the cambelt changed last year and has had a couple of services in my ownership.

Four good tyres and fairly recent exhaust and the braking system has been checked over and a few parts renewed. It's also surprisingly economical - I've been averaging 37mpg. It's a very torquey, lazy engine which pulls very well.

Interior is in very good condition with no tears or damage to trim - I'll put some additional pics up soon. Unfortunately the Honda stereo has packed up so it currently has no radio in it as I was in the middle of sourcing an adaptor for a modern unit. A minor niggle! The boot is huge by the way, and it has rear seatbelts for those of you with kids.

Bad points:

I replaced one of the front wings last year and cosmetically repaired the rear wheelarches. Unfortunately we had to have two goes at matching the paint up and it still wasn't quite right. Depends how picky you are for a daily hack but it would need flashing over again to be perfect. There are one or two small scabs around the door edges as you might expect. I also need to repaint the sill with stonechip where it was repaired and I'll do that before the car goes.

As I say it drives extremely well but if I'm being picky it has a few clonks at low speeds over rougher roads around town but otherwise it's very comfortable.

Tax runs out end of November 2009 and the MOT is on 12 October but I'll get it tested for another year unless someone wants to make an offer without.

Price: £350

You and your cheap cool cars, dammit. I think I've seen maybe one for sale of that generation in the past 4 years, probably at over 1500 euro. Anyway, best of luck with the sale!
