***EDIT: SOLD to Mr. Quicksilver****

Genuinely odd one here:

We appear to have a 1950s Chevrolet towing truck, wearing Ford livery, pulling a modern double-axle trailer with a Jeep CJ2-A on it. To make matters even more baffling, the Jeep appears to be without its most distinctive styling feature, its grille - instead there's just a flat piece of painted metal.

Take it away for £8 posted, it's doing my nut in.

There's a lot of detail in there, mind. The ramps on the trailer slide out and the jockey wheel pivots and all.

***OFF TO PASTURES NEW*** A rather pleasing little set now - Mini Countryman with caravan.

I seem to remember this was sold as a Marks & Spencer 'gift solution' for Fathers Day, back in the mid-2000s - so could well be a set exclusive to them.

£5 posted!

Now, just as the aforementioned trucks are 1/80 scale rather than the 1/72 scale most of Cararama's cars appear in, here's a few smaller scale trucks that I'll warrant are intended for US railway modellers, at 1/87 scale.

International something-or-other tractor unit.

Some bigger playsets now.

This one encompasses a Mercedes Actros Fire Tender, a Mercedes Vito police minibus, and a Mercedes ML420 paramedic response vehicle.

Comes complete with two giants and some pieces of gym equipment, for reasons I cannot fathom.

Okay, a few playsets that are more kiddy-oriented in terms of colours and accessories, now:

This is a Tesco Junior explorer set, comprising:

  • Mercedes CLK (yellow)
  • Saab 9-5 (silver)
  • Mercedes E-class estate (red)
  • Mercedes rigid transporter truck, in the wrong scale
  • A working inspection ramp
  • Shitloads of signs, barriers, cones, little men etc, ideal for finding in the dark with bare feet.

Price on this? Looking £10 posted.

Honestly don't know what, if anything, these are worth.

Yep, that Chevy tow truck is the one I called dibs on.

Good stuff - added to your pile, sir.

I'm enjoying your sales patter - who could resist buying such finely described piles of miniature chod?

Hey cheers! I'm hoping the answer is - nobody can resist! Really would like to minimise the car boot sale stuff this summer, and - weird as it sounds - I much prefer knowing where all these lumps of my once mighty* collection are ending up.

*for 'mighty', read 'unfocused, sprawling, chaotic and ultimately ungovernable'

***SOLD!!!*** Another playset of the same stripe, but boxed as Chad Valley - which I believe to be the old Woolworths own-brand name.

P1060677.JPG

Models in here are:

P1060678.JPG

P1060680.JPG

  • Mercedes C-class (I think - silver)
  • New Mini (yellow)
  • New Beetle (red)
  • Volvo V70 (green)

Again, £10 posted for this one too.

Interestingly, there were four differently configured sets to collect, it seems.

Well, that just about brings the Cararama to a close for now - though I think there are more lurking which I plucked from the collection and dumped in the For Sale box that I may not have yet photographed - will have another look tonight. There seem to be a fair few more in the box than there are pics in the folder, is all I'll say.

Here's a few more waifs and strays in approx. 1/72, then:

**** SOLD*** Ford Mustang

P1060607.JPG

Not sure of the maker, think it's something like 'Road Eagle' or summat.

£1.50
