sykes nut splitter help

got this kit at a car booty ...didnt realise till i got home the larger one's bolt is stuck fast , not rusted but just extremely tight , ive sinse snapped the head off trying to work it back n forth 

 

wondered if any one has had one apart and if so how...guessing the silver cylinder comes off but cant budge it

Bit of heat and penetrating oil if there are no seals to knacker up ?

You might be able to weld another nut on, but you'll need a fairly powerful MiG. The heat might help things too.

Alternative is leave it in a pan of hot oil for a few hours.

the bit that splits the nut sits in a grove iirc that stops it turning as you tighten the bolt. it is attached to the bolt by a ball joint

 

I managed to abuse one of these soo much that the splitter damaged the grove track and the whole thing seized up. I still have it somewhere but suspect it is only worth it's weight in scrap now

You might be able to weld another nut on, but you'll need a fairly powerful MiG. The heat might help things too.

already welded a nut on and snapped off a bit more thread lol
