Screen wiper arms n blades question...?

Can I fit any 72 splined wiper arms to my new wiper rack? The new rack has a 72 spline on a cylinder type thingy spindle, which is  different from my old 20 spline thing.

Er...if the wiper arms are 72 splines and the diameter of the spindle is the same then they should fit?  Some splined arms are also bolted into the spindle, whilst others have a spring clip to retain them.

As long as they're the same dimensions where it matters and it clears the screen properly, I can't see the harm.
