Looks like a good day out - if I had known ahead of time I might have gone... although... probably not as I'm too lazy to drive to San Diego on a weekend.  I would be interested in the Temecula show - when is it usually held?

 

Our local show at the Joint Forces Training Base was cancelled last minute - I guess the new (?) base commander doesn't see eye to eye with the show's organizers.  It's a real shame as the show was always meant to be a bit of a thank you to the local community putting up with the constant helicopter training shit night after night.  http://www.ocregister.com/2017/09/14/2017-wings-wheels-and-rotors-expo-in-los-alamitos-cancelled-due-to-new-training-base-rules/
 

Still, on a plus note we had the Blue Angels, the RCAF Snowbirds, an F-16 and an F-35 display team based here for a week or so recently and, we get to see and hear (mainly hear) them taking off for their practice for the Huntington Beach Airshow.

Howdy Clanger, long time no see. How's things in your neck of the woods ?......Anaheim looked a bit grim yesterday, a tad charred in places.....stay safe.

You may have been a bit disappointed with the show anyway, the Rover club was absent, as was the Ford club and a couple of others too I'm told. The reason being they've moved the venue to Spanish Landing (opposite the airport T2) and it's smaller than previous. 

The Temecula Rod Run is early March and lasts the weekend, The cars do the parade through the town Saturday night and then park up for Sunday show.....or in a lot of cases return for the show........No regular traffic is allowed through the town and parking on the outskirts is a fucking nightmare. We're local though so it's no bother for us.......But a really good day out all the same. 

I hear what your saying about helicopters, we get those bloody great big gun ships flying over to Camp Pendleton..........makes the soddin windows rattle it does................anyway back to the cars.

Alright there me old Stokie China...  No fires this far west - yesterday was a weird one though as the wind blew the smoke from the Anaheim fire our way so the sun was blocked and we had a redish tinge all day.  Everything covered with ash today, including my newly primed door from the P6.

 

I fancy the Temecula show, but it sounds like a bit of a pain in the old danglies - probably nothing that a bottle or two of the local juice couldn't dull eh?  One day I must come and kick the tires of the shite in your garage - if you're ever passing through the OC let me know, I am sure a pint could be had.

 

Still as you say, back to cars...
