Insurance advice needed.

Need advice. I shall be taking on a newer car shortly so I will temporarily own two cars. Should I give my current insurer a call to see if they will add another car to my existing policy? Is this likely to be a cheaper option than insuring both car on separate policies? I will be the only driver for both cars. My plan is to run both cars for six months and then sell one or the other, depending on which car is better.

My present car is 25 years old, runs well and has 11 months test left on it. I dont want to sell it until I have tried the newer car and found it to be OK and suits me.

Yes, call them.

I did exactly this recently, my insurer would allow an extra vehicle to be added for up to 3 months. In the end I didn't like the new car and sold it after 2.5 weeks. The extra insurance was cancelled and the remainder of the premium refunded.
