"Autocar" Magazines; 1949-1950

Hi All, I've been away from Autoshite for a few months, dealing with "stuff" which has resulted in me coming across a huge pile of "Autocar" magazines! It appears my late father subsribed to the magazine; 9d (that's 9 OLD pence=4p in new money!) a week, every week, for the years 1949 to 1950. I've had quite a bit of fun reading articles about Jowett Javalins and Rover 75s (that's OLD rover 75s, not Austin-Rover 75s) interspersed with discussions about petrol rationing, "Pool" petrol and how diesel engines will NEVER catch on in cars.... The letters column is hysterical!

 

If anyone wants them, they're yours-for free.... BUT you'll have to collect them from Barnet, as they're too heavy to post. If there's no interest I'll probably keep them anyway, as I'll only give them to someone who would appreciate old car sfuff, and I'm NOT going to Bay them-too much sentimental attachment!
