Flatpack OX. I'd buy one.

Bit annoying, really. One of my second year projects at uni involved the design of just such a machine.

It used two fibreglass floor pans, identical subframes front and rear and a monocoque body made from just one style of aluminium extrusion, with each section cut to length for minimal production costs.

All bodywork, doors etc were totally unstressed and, consequently, optional. I designed every aspect of its construction, aside from the power pack, but engineering something simple to suit would have been dead easy. Some old Peugeot 504 or Merc W123 lump would have been fine.

I got a fairly disapointing grade for it, anyway;

It reminded me of a LuAZ 967, and also of the little Haflinger 4x4.

Funny how many similar-looking off road forward control vans there have been over the years.

I suspect the comparisons with the Africar and Stonefield will be the most apt, at least in terms of production numbers!
