ECP oil offer

Buy one get one free for Triple QX 5w 30. I normally use this oil but 5w 40 spec in my 406 hdi. Would i get away with the 5w 30 spec or is it a bit thin?

It's a little thin really for an HDi.

 

CP4L are doing 5W40 fully synthetic for not a massive amount more delivered though (£2.90pl vs £2.20pl) - click

 

Otherwise if you don't need it now then ECP periodically do these buy one get one free oil offers on different grades - it was 10W40 a couple of weeks or so back for example.
