Ultimate Van shite

Was out in this today, first time since getting it back form a little stint in Law and Order UK, they did the stunning paint job, it's worse close up.....

It's also blessed with an amazing full 1.6 L of pinto, so you can imagine the acceleration.

What did amaze me though was how well it was received. A bloke in a Mk6 pick up asked to buy it, said he loved the colour, I said which one? And a little girl ran down the pavement along side me to tell me she loved my van. Bless, she was only about 6 though so I am hoping for her sake she will develop some taste before too long.

LOL that's awesome. "Love thy Neighbours" indeed, because they sure as hell won't love you if you parked that outside your typical barratt box.

Well I am sharing out the hippy transit love, and moving it about so they all get a good view. Piss me off and you get to keep it for a week. The other amazing thing is the graffiti hasn't been added to, maybe the little scrotes don't think it can get any worse!

In case anybody is wondering if it looks a bit down at the back, it was loaded at the time! 4 tables, 8 stacking ally chairs, 12 bar stools and a load of flat packed metal shelving! The two best lutons are out of the country at the moment, and a couple are off the the road, another was already loaded so.... I took the hippy bus formally known as Connie the Conservatory to work! Lucky it was an old long established customer, and they saw the funny side. Also a fan of Law and order UK so they will be looking out for the van!

OMG! I LOVE parcel vans and LOVE home-brew, hippy-style paint jobs. Even my wife is impressed. 1.6 though?!

Posted

Haha, thats splendid. I wonder which UK local authority Special Educational Needs Dept. that one started out with?

Posted

Well, the log book says 2.0L, but it defo is a 1.6, trust me :lol: , despite that, she tool the load well and I did manage to get out of 2nd gear  . Eventually.

Dollywobbler well done for calling it a parcel van, and not a Dormobile. Though this one did start life as a bus, and two little engraved placs are still riveted to the pillars, saying they were donated by somebody or other.

I do know of somebody selling a parcel van, bodywise better than this one, but in need of welding for the upcoming test, £100

Get it before it gets scrapped!

Luton Bedfordshire, I have a number if you want it. Quite tempted myself.

Posted

Please, Luton is well within reach... you say it's still got some test on it?

Posted

It has TWO WEEKS test only, and needs welding, in case you think it's a minter, though the outside was recently re sheeted.

I'd love it, but I got that look...

Was that the "you buy it you live in it look" ?
Posted

Sounds OK to me. Worth a look anyway.Would something like that rent out for the film stuff too?

No, not that bad. I last got that look when I said I wanted a Leyland Leopard coach - which would have been fine as it was kitted out as a mobile home anyway...It was more the " and what's your success ratio with projects then?" look.

That's ACE! I can't believe it's only £100 to be honest.

I would have had it, but as long as it goes to a good home, I don't mind! Don't want to see it go to scrap.

Posted

Certainly not!!

Here at the Pog Trust we promise never to have shite put down...

Posted

Pog wasn't it you that wanted my bullion van? No I'm not selling it, just wondered if you had a hankering for a mk2

Posted

Yeah, I was a bit interested by it. But then I am always interested in any cheap, grotty old tat.

Posted
 Aren't we all? Just an odd thing to be after without a purpose. My purpose is to populate the Home For Old Transits. Oh, and film them.
Posted

Pog if you are serious about the parcel van go for it. If not, I could buy it and have found a home for the bull bar, which means I would get it for nothing! Let me know eh?

Posted

I am not talking about scrapping the van, just selling the bull bar. I don't like em on big vans anyway, to me they only look good on regular panel vans.

Posted

I take it back, this one is stunning compared to the luton I bought yesterday.

Proper shed, but I wanted the body for me Mk1 (no longer to be a horse box). Also has a decent pinto and other bits worth having like window winder mechanisms. The scuttle is good too, so it will die and others will live.

Oh and I am going for the parcel van, too good to pass up at a oner.

Posted

Good for you. I cannot convince the domestic management.

Posted

I know you want to! Could do you a nice luton......
