v5c help needed. now sorted.

right ive decided to do something about the jiffy,problem is I lost the logbook,think it was when I had to move in at my dads a couple of years back,what I would like to know is do the dvla want the vin if I apply by phone,all details are the same as the one I lost,address etc.it is registered in my name and at my current address,but the vin plate is corroded and unreadable,i must state it if I apply by post.and need to know if I need it by phone.anyone know the rules on this?as my fear is if I ring and they need the vin it will render my current v5 invalid as I told them its lost.and don't want that I case the lost one turns up

You can only ask and get chatty with them. If the V5C was in the same name/address, etc., then I'd be happy enough to take 25 quid from you and get one sent out. It's not like there's a change of anything else, just a straightforward re-issue.

that's my jiffy,so the tax ran out 1990,i never knew that,seems plausible that its been off the road since then.i never did find out why its only 4cc though,currently 998cc.

found an earlier type v5c from when I first bought it,so have all details to get my new one.turns out ive owned it 12 years now,so with that ive had a total enthusiasm burst and will get my arse into gear and get it done.
