Dead Laguna 2

Renault electrics are renowned for being intolerant to duff batteries. Even after a day on a charger, if the battery isn't 100% then there can still be problems. My mate changed the bcu, fusebox as recommended by Renault on a megane, but the problem persisted. It wasn't until he flattened the battery trying to start it so we put the one from my megane in, that the problems disappeared. As an experiment we charged his battery and put it in mine. Low and behold mine started having (different) problems. £55 battery from ecp and problem solved. Still pissed him off having spent over £500 trying to fix the fault initially.

You won't believe this........

it failed the MOT lol.

Only on the rear axle bushes I knew about and a front ball joint I didn't. They've been fixed now & it's got a whole year's MOT as from yesterday. Anyone laying odds if it lasts that long?

Think so. It started working after two days & lots of WD40 under the RH side of the dash.

I still need to sort the leak that's getting in, when I find where. But I might rig up a temporary plastic bag draped over the fusebox etc to divert the internal rainflow....

Just noticed I've got the rank of an Austin Metro. That brings back memories of my first car, A735BNJ, a light blue 3-door 1.0L. Destroyed it against a tree in six months...

Thought I'd update this.

The car no longer dies in the rain, but now more duct tape has pealed off the sunroof the passenger side leaks the same way & had 1/2" of water sat in it this morning.
