I have an enquiry about the fly by wire Volvos V70, S80, S60 etc etc.

 

Does anyone know when Volvo realised there was a problem with the ETM's in these models, and when was it rectified?

 

If it ever was rectified, that is.

 

The reason for this enquiry is I've been slavering over an S60 2.4t auto.

It's an 03 plate. Would this model be afflicted with the ETM of doom?

ETM, in a Volvo? Does it dispense £10 notes out of the CD slot? Always wondered what that keypad was for!

 

 

As far as I know it's 99-02 models which were affected-I think it was a Marelli unit that was the issue, replaced with Bosch in later cars, many were fixed under warranty, but never recalled as they were in the USA. They usually put the EML on and gave a code P1620.
