Taff Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Nice! Is the old American dash a '59 Ford by any chance? I love that model year for American Fords... 59 Galaxie, yeah. This one, in fact:- Jim Bergerac 1
Noel Tidybeard Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 That's a pre '85 Sierra dash.......black foglamp switch, but cheap crappy seat trim, two spoke wheel...............L or GL ?thats a posh GL one its got the extra warning lights by clock and has the deep long centre part- the L dash had ashtray below radio with no c-boxes and no speakers by glove and no rev-o-meterbox
Noel Tidybeard Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I have driven one, it's a dreadful layout. Especially the heater controls, you have to gaze down at the panel to use them, if I recall correctly there's even a menu system for them. What's so wrong with simple slider or rotary controls where just a quick glance would tell you what the settings are?I don't know if it's the same with other cars with central instrument panels, but I found it a distraction to look over at the instruments.i owned one and never had a problem- steering wheel doesnt block any of the dials and being fairly high up the are closer to eyelinethe heater is a full climate control so doesnt really need fiddling with as the system is pretty good and the temp adjustment is one of the two round knobs- left one does radio volume right one does heater temp- simples
