Oil cap quick fix

I thought the people of Autoshite may appreciate this. It is my colleague's solution to losing his oil filler cap - a rubber bung wrapped in duct tape, a chopstick and more duct tape. Somebody on Facebook guessed the engine so feel free to do the same.

Would that be a fiat FIRE lump out of a punto by any chance?

The one on the wife's new punto isn't looking too sparkling, so I may be adopting that as a temporary fix until payday....

Yes, Punto 1.2. It's working so far according to the owner. I was responsible for careful positioning of chopstick.

The pre 2006 FIREs just used a bung anyway.

Yes he said the cap was a bit weird. I wonder what they thought was wrong with a simple screw thread.

It's an odd thing, my old uno was the same.

Ours seems to be perishing and splitting quite badly, guess Fiat didn't expect them to last all that long.
