Great stuff! Did you have enough nerve to photograph any big black Lancia saloons or Maserati Quattroportes...

We stayed in Marinella, on the South West coast, where a local shop had this parked outside, presumably to lure turisticos

 

We drove down from Palermo Airport through Monreale - no big black berlinas, but saw the Fiorino and probably my favourite garage ever. While I was fumbling with the camera and generally having a goz, a swarthy bloke emerged who I thought was intent on inserting my camera somewhere rude. Turned out he was just switching the lights on to make the picture better:

 

Our attempt to get to Corleone was thwarted by the fact we foolishly hired a 1-litre Mitsubishi Colt whose power and torque curves were not well suited to the topography of Sicily's interior. After two and a half hours' progress at the speed of a laden Ape, we had only covered about a third of the distance, so turned back.
