Anyone breaking (or know of somwhere that is) a Suzuki Alto?

I have acquired a 2005 example of one of these exciting* machines, and I need a few bits.

One breaking in Tyne and Wear would be tickety-boo,

Failing that, just someone who doesn't expect a fortune.

What shape is an 05 Alto?

Chris Watson's at Salterforth near here is a good old-fashioned scrap yard with an SD1, ADO16, old Minis up to modernish blobs. They have an Alto, I was there on Tuesday.

My brother Will is a fairly regular visitor... what do you need?

Maybe we could send something up with JohnK (from Teeside) when he comes for the squished Rover.

Cheers for the offer, Joe.

It is one this shape;

I could do with a driver seat, perhaps a carpet and rear bumper and some smaller bits.

It depends on what is available, and how plausible it all is.

If the yard you and your brother use has one, it would be great if we could sort something out.

The one I saw was maybe the previous shape, but I didn't take a great deal of notice of it (there's so much to gawp at in these places!), so I'm not sure.

You could  give them a ring (01282 812400) and ask them what year it is, and we'll take it from there. They're open 'til noon on Saturdays.

Can't blame you for not noticing!

Will ring them tomorrow.

Cheers, matey. :)

I'm pretty sure Kevin Brunton (annfield plain) has one of these in at the moment. I'll check in the morning for you.

Slightly off topic, but do they let you in there now as a punter? Last time I went (probably about eight years ago) they said nobody was allowed in the yard and you had to wait while they went and got whatever it was.

Last week was the first time I'd been in for about 14 years, I'd always been allowed to wander before that. This time when I arrived, I said my brother is the lad who's there just about every week raiding Peugeots for bits, and they were happy to point me in the direction of what I wanted. the workers are all friendly enough lads, and gave me two prices - pick-your-own, and already removed, so perhaps they're more relaxed again now. You can't just wander in like, they'll meet you at the barrier first.

No answer, despite calling several times, Joe.

Will try them again, tomorrow.

Probably a busy morning for them today, with the nice weather and all that...

I think they're shut Sundays, try them on Monday mate.

I raped one in U Pull It today.

So all I now need is a silver rear bumper. :D
