Close to being the oldest motor sport event still running, but not quite:

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelsley_Walsh_Speed_Hill_Climb

The Shelsley Walsh Speed Hill Climb is a hillclimb in Shelsley WalshWorcestershireEngland, organised by the Midland Automobile Club (MAC). It is one of the oldest motorsport events in the world, and is in fact the oldest to have been staged continuously (wartime excepted) on its original course, first having been run in 1905. On that first occasion, the course was 992 yards (907 m) in length, but in 1907 it was standardised at 1000 yards (914 m), the length it remains today.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indianapolis_500

The inaugural running was won by Ray Harroun in 1911. The race celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011, and the 98th running was held in 2014Ryan Hunter-Reay is the defending champion. The most successful drivers are A. J. FoytAl Unser, and Rick Mears, each of whom have won the race four times. Rick Mears holds the record for most career pole positions with six. The most successful car owner is Roger Penske, owner ofTeam Penske, which has 15 total wins and 17 poles.

I think you will also find the Isle of Mann TT predates this, along with anything run at Brooklands..... Funny how the world doesn't exist outside of the USA  ;-)
