Great thread! There's some proper class stuff in Gaydon, I hope to go there in a few weeks again. I'd like a Metro to potter about in, I still have the horn for a yellow GTa

I had a green Metro van back in the mid 90's.

It belonged to a customer who was on his way over to the workshop to sort out an oil getting onto the clutch problem when it was lightly rear ended, the guy decided to give up on it and sold it to me for the price of the tax on it.

A body shop up the road fixed it up with secondhand bumper and tailgate and a new rear panel they had stashed away.

I fitted MG pepper pot alloys and the red seat belts and carpet from the MG version to match its red 1275cc engine.

I think the green colour was special order for an electricity company on the south coast.

I sold it soon after to an old boy who had a rascal van that was written off when it hit a wild boar and he moved up to Norfolk with it never to be seen again.

The best thing was its number plate A333POT,doovla records say its been untaxed since 1998 so i guess its long gone.
