My mate had a blue one that was nearly new when we were all about 22. There were about 6 of us who all rented a house at the time so there were an assoetment of cars on the drive abd all around the close where we lived much to the amusement of the neighbours. It was much better than anything me or my other mates were driving at the time and there was much envy\admiration. It was so modern.

 

There was a strange incident one morning when he came to drive to work. His drivers door was open but after giving the car a check over there was no sign of damage or anything being stolen. However, when he started it and went to drive off he realised the accelerator pedal was missing! We still to this day don't know why someone would have targeted this. A mechanic said that they might have opened the car with half a tennis ball over the door lock as a hard smack could get in as it was a vacuum system and the pedal assembly might have been an expensive part but still it was a bit strange all the same!

I had one of these when I was 19 back in 1999 and thought it was the bees knees. Blue one all the way.

 

The only thing I didn't like was the rattly 1.3 engines which didn't seem to last well. I'd have much preferred it to have a 1600 CVH at the time.

I'm in the red corner, I like the matt finish body coloured bumpers it had (that didn't really match) Ford did these for a few years in the late 80's early 90's.
