Pete-M Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I've just renewed my trade policy. It has nearly doubled for no reason this year, despite no points or claims and full ncb. Renewal quote was comical, nearly three times last year's premium. I asked why. "It's the area, L postcode". I pointed out that Liverpool has much less car crime than pretty much any big city in the UK and that the crime stats have dropped every year for 10 years or so, that nobody in my street has had any issues, and that for the last 25 years I've insured cars from the same L postcode without the premium tripling on renewal. "It's the postcode" was all the phone droids would say, although one of them did say that there's been a large increase of uninsured drivers in Yorkshire so everyone is being clobbered by the costs. I pointed out that I'm 60 odd miles from Yorkshire and that the only reason people drive without insurance is because the premiums are too high. "It's the postcode" was all he could reply. Fucking mental. cms206 1
