Ideas don't get much simpler than the wire that Citroen provided to hook the bonnet to the top of the windscreen on their H van. Did Mr Perodua use such cunning to get his Nippa down to that magic £4999?

Found my Nippa to be quite advanced, was expecting a lot worse. Original seats were horrible, dashboard is made of the hardest, grimmest plastic, front suspension was not very nice, but put 80's Wolfrace seats in and then put coilovers from a Corsa, it is tremendous fun to drive.

Obligatory photos, just for a laugh as it's still quite a cheap car.

This is a full boxed drumkit in the back, the load space is incredible.

My Ford Pop had a clutch chain like that. It also had no water pump, no thermostat and no oil filter. Water used to basically boil in the block and thermosyphon up to the top. Seemed to work just fine! The heater was a box on the top hose directly behind the engine fan, so it just blew straight into the car - again, it worked really well!

Was this the last car with self-winding front windows?

When the electric windows didn't work on our  mk1 1997 Mx5, it turned out that it was an aftermarket kit, so I threw is all in the bin and invested in 2 plastic handles.

You can still buy a Dacia with windy windows.
