Christmas Classic Car Drives; Has Anyone Done One?

Don't know if any Autoshiters have come across them, but I vaguely remember reading about a classic car rally a year or 2 ago for a week or so around Christmas, where you travelled from hotel to hotel, in your own car, travelling on a sort of rally-come-tour over interesting routes & roads.

 

Has anyone heard of these rallies or has anyone been on one? The current Mrs. H and my good self reckon this would make an "Christmas with a difference", particularly if we get our hands on the 1976 Renault 4l we're looking at.... GOD I LOVE RENAULTS!!!

There are loads of these things, some just organised by a bloke who has a good idea and are really informal. Others try to recall the classic era of rallying, but a little more gentle (ie hotels rather than sleeping as you drive, or not sleeping at all). Just search for Classic Tours. Not sure how many operate during the festive period though.

 

Back in 2005 (I think) we were bored after Christmas, so I went a booked a B&B in rural Wales and we then jumped in my Rover P6B and drove there, passing through the village we live in now on the way home the next day. You don't need an actual tour.
