GPS tracker recommendations

Has anyone here got any experience or tips with trackers?

I was just looking on Ebay and I've seen them for as little as £15 for a budget model.

There's quite a lot in the £40-£60 bracket that look alright, I'd always assumed they were £150+

I got two cheapish ones in my van, they weren't much money so I got two and put them on different networks and have hidden them in different places. They're dead good. I put a giffgaff sim with a tenner in it in one, and an EE one in the other. I ring the number, and it texts me it's GPS location with a link to google maps. There's a lot more you can do with it (ie you can remotely disable the fuel pump, or fill the cabin with halon gas and lock the doors and windows).

I've got one of mine wired to disable the crank sensor rather than fuel pump.

You can top giffgaff up online, but the EE one I just take out and put in my phone to top up now and again.

Oh and they have an internal battery which lasts about 24 hours. I could never get the function working where they text you if the vehicle moves, but I think I'd need to set up mobile data or something

I've had the above fitted for over a year without issue, absolutely worth fitting, but think of them as a solution to the hiab monkeys, best to have some kind of a cut out / immobiliser as well.

Thanks guys, I bought the above model, I just got my mk10 420g out of the garage and hardly slept for fear of it being nicked
