British bike wanted.

Having owned all the Japanese/Italian stuff, bikes scooters, on road off road I have a hankering for a Brit to tinker with. I went to the most excellent Aylesford Priory Classic Bike Show down here in Kent. Found a sweet oily 60s Matchless 350 something with MOT/tax for less than a grand but having got home to call the man I found glare all over the pic with his number on! Oh bum. So anyone got anything knocking about?
