autoshitters handy tools

i have a couple of handy bits of equipment that could be very handy for autoshitters

first off is my draper expert eobd code reader, im upgrading to one that also reads abs and airbag faults, i have had this for four years and it is in immaculate condition and havent found any car it wont read (more than can be said for my works launch system) below is a link to the same unit on ebay, im looking for £75 for it

next up is my A frame,i dont use it now that ive bought the trailer,  if had it for about 10 years and towed hundreds (if not thousands) of miles with it, it is an ex rac unit and has the extensions for towing longer front ends, its not your usual cheap lightweight unit, but it hasnt been used for a while so it will require a quick  spray up with some wd40 on the ratchets. i dont have photos of it but we all know what they look like,  im looking for £100 for it

both items can be viewed, tried and collected from dunfermline

cheers guys

Those code readers are really good, £75 is a steal. I already have 2 plus an ELM for the laptop, or I'd have had that off you.

AA membership card,

AF Socket set,

AF spanners, open end and ring,

Rubber mallet,

Stanley screwdrivers,

Feeler gauges.

None of this code reading shit for me, or even metric shit for that matter.

Hang on, I've just realised that this is one of those newfangled 'for sale' larks. Thought it was a topical thread, lol. Apologies.

I'm half tempted by that code reader as I'm having loads of problems with my 2008 Focus but I think that needs reseting more than fault reading.

Also I haven't a club about these code readers.

it couldnt be easier to use mate

plug it in press the button, it gives you the code, press the erase button ands it clears the fault codes for you

but bear in mind all code readers are just a diagnostic tool and only point you in the right direction of the fault, never exactly to the fault, you still have to check with multimeters to be sure of which sensor etc is causing the problem

googling a fault code is a handy way to help pinpoint a problem as well

+1 on the ease of use. Code readers are getting better and better as time goes on. The first one I ever had had 2 coloured lights on it, and you had to count the flashes (like a kind of Morse code!) and then look them up in a big book. Some Honda-engine Rover 800s had a flashy light thing under the dash for the same purpose.

The modern type like the Draper one here are fuckin ace.
