The boot spoiler has been shown some hate by Lancia purists, but as I'm not one I don't care and think I quite like it.

I must admit that it is not a genuine Lancia spoiler, it has a small Renault logo on it, I'm not sure what car it's from, maybe an 18?

Anything that gets the purists doing hateys has to be worth it, and anyway the Castrol sticker probably doubles the value of the car, even if it is covering up a hole.  

 

On Pistonheads, BTW, the word "Lancia" means "Chipped, mapped, and monged Delta Integrale".  They simply cannot recognise any other type of Lancia as a Lancia.

The castrol sicker has bonded to the paint and I reckon I'd lose a huge chunk of paintwork with it. The paint is original, ie 35yrs old, it's not been re-sprayed.

The ally plating over the sills (which looks really crap close up) is covering up some bad welding done by the last owner. Those should hopefully be being removed and some new betaboyz sills grafted on later this year.

My one has most of its original paint on, but some signs of welding and duff blow overs in places, for example a large area near the base of one side of the targa bar.  It is a bit crusty around the edges and corners of the valances and at the window corners, but otherwise seems, as far as I can tell, to be solid-ish.   Someone has fitted HPE wheel arch liners to it, which either protect the arches or simply provide cover and privacy for festering grot beneath.

The coolant temperature gauge has now started behaving itself again.  The needle sits in the middle and the thing doesn't light up like Blackpool anymore.  This makes me suspicious of the next cock up that is going to happen along.
