I passed mine in 2002 in an incredibley fucked two year old fiesta flight 1300 (same spec as my current daily) but was taught partly by my mum (in the lupo i now own) and partly by myself with a 2.0glsi sierra sapphire i bought out of the loot and used for work for six months sans licence.

Ah memories. I learned in my instructor's Opel Kadett. Bright green.

I then had practise time in my mum's Vauxhall Chevette hatchback, also green, but more of a lime puke green. Given that they were essentially the same car, thought that would make it simple. Oh no, the cars had indicator sticks on different sides to each other. Forever turning the wipers on in either car! This was back in 1980, fortunately passed despite leaving my indicator on all the way up North Street in Guildford. Happy memories, one of those exams you don't have to wait for results!
