My 405 is defo the best car I've had.  I fear the day it ever gives up on me!  And if it did  it would only be due to my skintness.  Really gotta service it soon!

Shame I missed your red one's demise - would have defo taken your passenger door - my one's window only works sporadically, and it's not a diy job.  Took door apart a few months ago, but no chance for fixing.

I'll defo have another one after this I reckon..

If its the same XU engine that my XM has, for a long and happy life I was advised to change the autobox oil and clean the filter as it is a messy job and often gets ignored by main dealer service mongs. Also critical to use the right Dexron. Yep, my regularly serviced car had grubby oil and the filter needed a darned good clean. Also the magnet on the drain plug that's supposed to collect all the swarf was missing. Anyone got a spare?
