A/C compressor oil leak

I noticed that the latest Safrane V6 i bought had an oil leak on the compressor,its the yellow oil used whena A/C regas is done.

Today the SERVICE light has come on and the a/c isn,t working,the oil leak is worse and i plan on fitting a new compressor this weekend,if it leaked oil would the gas also escape?

It was regased in July this year.

Gas will already be gone pretty much. Same thing happened on my Vectra.
