1983, Port Lincoln, South Australia. While clearing a 'pond' on his property there were a few vehicles recovered including a series 2 landy SWB and a Simca with the smallest V8 i've ever seen, A couple of holdens of course.... I don't think any of them started though I do beleive the Simca engine ended up being restored.

Not found in a lake, but still a cool start up.

Gah. We had a Simms inertia starter like that on one of our old ground power units at the airport. Knackered Transit diesel engine attached to the gearbox and gen- when someone had left the lights on overnight by accident, there's icicles hanging from the thing and it's needed in fifteen minutes.. that's a quick way to get warm in the morning. Can of easy-start and the cranking handle. It'd spin over about 2 compression strokes for spinning it up about as fast as you can hear in that video.

Doesn't look like he's really doing much, but you can see the guy cranking the handle turning progressively more flush. Very hard work!
