Hi There

I have watched and lurked from afar and watched many threads about Talbot Sambas ( SambaS does seem to be the main man on here!!). I am an avid Talbot fanatic.. with a Sunbeam Lotus and Sunbeam stage rally car..

I have a young son who is autistic and had a great love of all things mechanical.. I am not really very mechanically minded, but, thought I would bite the bullet and we would get a project on the go to keep him occupied. I used to own a Talbot Samba S in my youth ( see below )..

so thought it would be good to buy a samba, strip it down and renovate it,.. we managed to source a working running red cabrio on ebay.. it was an ok model.. but was originally gold and had been painted with what appeared to be a toothbrush!! ( i think it was posted up on the forum ) and brought it back and got to work..  Because bits were few and far between, I ended up buying a couple more cabrios also on ebay, runners and none runners on the thought that I could strip down and get one or two good cars.. so I now have 3 cars.. two sat as bought and the one we first got stripped down in my garage.. The body work on all three cars have held up remarkably well for the 30 years on all 3 cars to be honest..

Unfortunately, as can be the case with autistic people, he now has moved on to something else interest wise, and, i was wanting him to want to do the cars rather than me make him help me.. as this really does defeat the whole object of the enjoyment of the project.. so I am left with 3 cars taking up space, and no real end in sight for the project to pick back up..

To cut a long story short, I was wondering if anyone had any interest in buying the cars for spares or to get back up and running.. as I said, all three ran when purchased, but the one stripped down wont now, and the other two I have not started for nigh on 8 months..so not sure on those.. but I can gladly supply pics of all cars if required?

I have posted below a couple of pics of the one we have worked on.. how it was and its current state..

I am in Lancs btw..

Look forward to hearing from anyone who would like to take this project on and take the cars to a good home

Graham

Hope these find a good home, I sure could use some parts for my Cabriolet, it needs a pair of front wings and a petrol tank and a myriad of other things but bad timing for me sadly, shame too as your only the next county away.

Hi Faker.. Thanks for the interest.. Open to offers to be honest..

As I say, stored on a farm, so not getting me that much headache from the better half at the moment, but, none the less.. what set out to be a Dad and Lad bonding project just hasnt turned out that way .. much to my disappointment..

As I am new on here, all my replies have to be moderated and not sure how long that takes for each post to appear.. so may be best if you PM me..

Thanks again

G

p.s. Also forgot to say.. Ill throw in a Haynes manual - thats sure to help getting it back together!!  8)
