Bobthebeard Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Has anyone else tried this stuff? It's meant for caravans and motorhomes, but also recommended for cars.It claims to leave a protective coating, a dazzling* shine, and repel water, dirt and stuff without polishing. It's meant to be used in the cold rinse water after washing your car (or whatever). Just tried it on the car and the result did exceed expectations! Water beads off just like with a wax polish and certainly looks shiny. Just rinse then wipe off with a dry cloth as per the instructions. Took all of five minutes. Time will tell of course. Bobthebeard Posted July 5, 2013 Author Posted July 5, 2013 Got it from Halfords*. I think it was around £10 for a litre, but at two small capfuls per bucket of water it should last a while.... * Other retailers are available and possibly* cheaper. Shep Shepherd 1
Bobthebeard Posted July 5, 2013 Author Posted July 5, 2013 Just properly read the label on the back, it says:"Fenwicks BOBBY DAZZLER is a hydrophobic protective surface coating, it actually repels water, dirt and algae without the need to polish. Simply apply during rinsing (at one cap full per five litres of water). Suitable for use on plastics, aluminium, glass, acrylic windows, GRP, ABS, fibreglass, decals, sealants, paint and much more. Does not contain silicone" As previously said however, time will tell if it lasts beyond the next shower of rain.
kinkersaab Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Sounds like auto smarts wet wax. It does bead the water but it isn't magic.
MrDuke Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 If it doesn't leave swirl marks in the paint, sweat stains on your shirt, and no strength in your elbows, then it's just not good enough, sorry.
Cavcraft Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I'd like to give it a try but I reckon good old fashioned (decent quality) wax would probably do the same sort of job.
Shep Shepherd Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Is it just me, or does "Fenwick's Bobby Dazzler" sound like the name of a real ale?
overrun Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 I can barely be arsed to use the washer jets on the Mondeo. Never mind this bufty bollocks.
