Anyone need any 405 bits?

As the title says, am taking various bits off a 405 petrol estate before scrapping it, anyone need anything?

Which 405 estate is it?

I'd need a LH electric mirror for a post-facelift

The chrome strips fore and aft

Wheels if they are any good, or at least centre caps for a GTX

The plastic baffle that holds the door lock rod into the lock cylinder off the driver's door

Everything else that I forgot to mention

It's a '96 Executive 2.0 Auto Estate.

Was going to keep the n/s mirror but you could probably twist my arm; think I've got another one somewhere, will check.

Is sitting on Harrier alloys, I expect you mean the seven spoke alloy centre caps, which it hasn't got.  Wheels and tyres are very good but it really needs those on it to be towed away.  However I have an extra set of Harriers on nearly new all weather tyres which I want sensible money for.

Which chrome strips?

Illuminate on this plastic baffle thing and I'll find it for you.

Inside the driver's door, where the lock cylinder is, at the inner end of the cyl., a metal rod engages into a hole in the cylinder end. By turning the key, you move that rod and it actuates the door lock/central locking solenoid.

This rod is prevented from slipping out of the lock cylinder by a yellowish plastic - well - baffle for lack of a better word.

Unless I'm totally wrong and it is held in by something else.

The story behind it is this: The car was broken into a long time ago and since then the driver's door lock was at an angle. I had this fixed after I bought the car and now face the problem, that the rod always slips out of the lock and I have to lock/unlock the car from the passenger side.

When I examined the door inside, I found this plastic baffle behind the lock cylinder and interpreted its function doing just what I think it does. But since the door was bent for so long, it was bent too and now doesn't completely go into its original position anymore, that way failing to prevent the rod from falling out of the lock.

I never counted the spokes before.

But I count eight, if I counted correctly?

The chrome strips go on the bumper and are missing on my car. Maybe only the GTXes had them.

Oh, and do you have an original radio?

Sorry I meant 8 spokes, but anyway mine's got wheels like this

I'll have a look at that door mechanism on Friday when I next go up there.  It has the chrome strips, will see if I can extricate them successfully.  And an orginal radio I'll put by for you.

Also has a rather nice leather interior if you really wanted to push the boat out.

Are you able to collect stuff or do you need it sending.

1.  It needs a drive shaft or wheel bearing looking at - making noises

2.  It was a car shared between me and my brother who's now bought a Jeep

3.  It's SORN and taking up space

4.  I've just bought another saloon and need a cooling fan off it, as well as various other smaller bits

It's actually a pretty good car with great history in good nick but selling it would be a pain in the arse
