Faded red paint. A possible* solution.

Our Honda Accord was converted to LPG last year and uses the Flashlube additive. According to the bottle, Flashlube can be used in older petrol cars by adding some to the petrol tank to help clean injectors etc. I tipped about 50ml of the stuff into my 944 tank on the last fill up around a fortnight ago.

Managed to spill some on the paintwork under the filler cap of the 944, and hastily wiped it off! However, the faded pogweasel pink that used to be Porsche Guards Red paint came up gleaming again, just like new! I have spent hours over the last two years trying to polish out the pink bits along the sides of the car, but nothing lasted more than a few days until the faded pink colour returned. The bit where I wiped the Flashlube is still gleaming red, despite it being rained on/washed etc. No trace of any oily residue or anything! Weird. Two weeks later it is still the same. Have cautiously wiped some more on a pinky patch on the rear bumper. Just wiped it on and straight off again with a clean cloth. Same result. Deep red colour, No trace of any residue and it looks just like it has been wax polished. The faded old paint just seems to absorb it. Nothing bad has happened to the paint in the two weeks since apart from it still looks red and shiny! Maybe I will regret saying this, but so far so good!

An accidental solution to the pogweasel pink paint?

On that basis, T-cut should work as a fuel additive....................very interesting!
